“Chatter” Continued on page 2
I am very happy to serve you as your Chairman for a second year.  Thank you all for giving me the opportunity.  Our executive board remains the same as last year, but our Board At Large has seen some new faces.  We want to thank Anthony Kennedy, Curt Wilson, and Leah Blough for their outstanding service to the board, and welcome the new faces of Steve Butts, Boyd Frederick, and Sally Simpson.  New may not be the best term for Steve and Boyd who have a history of service to this County and the State Democratic Party.
Looking forward to the new year, we have held our first Board Meeting.  Our plan for the year will be discussed at the January meeting.  Our new board members have taken the following responsibilities.  Boyd will be in charge of the Coordinated Campaign Office that will probably be opened in June.  Steve will be in charge of publicity and public relations.  He plans to have an extensive survey for us early in spring.  His plan is to help us determine our purpose and goals as well as what types of speakers and education we wish to pursue.  Sally will be chairman of the picnic.
Edna Highland will continue as our appointed Fund Raising Chairman.  Our Annual Dinner will be on March 27, at Bristol Oaks County Club.  We have invited Russ Feingold and Tom Barrett to speak at the dinner.  We also expect to see the candidates for Lt. Governor and Attorney General.  With a line up of such prestigious guests, we hope to see a huge crowd attend the dinner.  Please put it on your calendar right now and save the date.  This being an election year, I hope you all will delight in meeting our candidates and having a chance for informal chat with them.
Anthony Kennedy has been appointed Program Chairman.  Please contact him if you have ideas of programs that would be of interest.  He is planning information about our candidates for the Feb. and March meetings.
Ann Wilson has agreed to remain our Membership Chairman.  Your dues can either be sent directly to the state or to Ann, who will note the membership and then forward
